I love these people and this food. I’ve tried a few entrees and enjoyed each, with the Reuben standing out as a definite favorite. But, predictably, I’m not here to talk about food.
I’m here to talk about dessert. Specifically, I’m here to talk about pie.
I count it as a personal triumph and a rather proud accomplishment that I was Penny Ann’s first whole pie customer. I needed to repay a debt after two friends spent hours helping me with the new home, and I could think of no better “thanks” than a chocolate peanut butter pie from Penny Ann’s. Again, I’ve tried to branch out and have tried several other flavors, but the chocolate peanut butter is transcendent. They sent me out the door with a nicely wrapped pie and a very large styrofoam cup full of house-made whipped cream.
The last time I went in, I ordered pie with my meal against the possibility that they might sell out of peanut butter. As good as the other flavors of pie are, I would be disappointed if I didn’t end my meal with a beautiful, beautiful slice of Penny Ann’s peanut butter pie.
